Sports compression by Thuasne

Thuasne, a specialist in medical support and compression, puts its know-how and high standards at the service of sportsmen and women. Made in France" sports compression combines design, comfort and efficiency to support sports activities and promote recovery.

There are 2 types of sports compression: progressive compression (higher pressure from the top to the bottom of the leg) and degressive compression (higher pressure from the bottom to the top of the leg). Thuasne has chosen to focus exclusively on degressive compression.

What is digressive compression and what are its benefits?

Thuasne degressive compression exerts greater pressure at the ankle, gradually decreasing as it moves up towards the calf. This increases blood pressure and stimulates venous return, promoting :

  • More efficient muscle oxygenation
  • Reduced pain
  • Reduced fatigue on exertion
  • More efficient stride and reduced muscle vibration
3 stages of venous return

Endurance exercise such as the Trail du Bélier places heavy demands on your muscles. As with all events, as distance increases, so does fatigue.

Thuasne compression products can help optimize your performance, and will also be useful after the effort to take care of your recovery.

The UP ACTIV range supports you during exercise. Its reinforced mesh in the areas of greatest stress (heel and ball of the foot) ensures real comfort and adapts to your morphology. Available as high compression socks, mid-calf compression socks and compression sleeves. NILIT Aquarius weft yarn technology wicks away moisture for a more comfortable stride.

The UP RECOVERY range, with its long recovery socks, stimulates venous return after exercise. Once the run is over, muscle contraction stops, blood circulation becomes less fluid and toxins accumulate. Good recovery is therefore highly recommended.

GOOD TO KNOW

Where are our compression socks and sleeves made?

Thuasne Sport compression products are designed and manufactured in France, at our Saint-Etienne site.

Can I combine compression during and after sport?

Yes, the combination of wearing compression during and after exercise allows you to recover more quickly and keep going longer.

How long do I have to wear my recovery socks?

Recovery socks should be worn at least 2 hours after exercise.

What's the difference between socks that can be worn during and after exercise?

The heel knit is different for our compression products. Our recovery socks are more suitable for everyday wear.
