Le Marathon du Bélier
A 42 km marathon with a route through the sumptuous landscapes of the Aravis massif. This marathon of Bélier will take you through breathtaking panoramas!
You can choose to take part individually or in a relay, it's up to you! Come and join us!

By purchasing a charity race bib for the15 km, 27 km, 42 km Trail, or the Super Bélier,you directly support the young athletes of the Club des Sports de La Clusaz. All funds raised will go toward financing exceptional projects for the youth sports programs. Learn more.

- Difference in altitude : 1930m D+ and 1930m D- (Relay 1 20km/1260D+ 710D- | Relay 2 22km/670D+ 1220D-)
- Start 6:40 am - Place de l'Eglise.
- Individual registration fee: €57 + €1 to support local organizations
- Team rate: €81 + €1 to support local organizations
- 42 km trail (individual): €300
- Category: Youth to Masters (born in 2006 or earlier, calendar year)
- Participation: individual or relay (team of 2)
- Registration deadline: Thursday, August 20, at 7:00 p.m., or as soon as the maximum number of registered runners is reached.
- Maximum number of individual numbers: 600
- Maximum number of bibs per team: 160 individuals or 80 teams
- Race bib pickup: Monday, August 17, through Thursday, August 20, at the Club des Sports de La Clusaz / Friday, August 21, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., at Place de l’Eglise / Saturday, August 22, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., at Place de l’Eglise / Sunday, August 23, from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m.
- Start Groups: There are 3 Start groups, each starting every 5 minutes. Start will be notified of your Start group via email the week of the event, and it will be available on race day when you pick up your race number.
- The exchange or resale of race bibs is strictly prohibited ( except through the official system provided by the organizers)
- Relay: For two-person teams, the relay takes place at Crêt du Merle, at the 19.8-kilometer mark. The second runner may use the Crêt du Merle ski lift Crêt du Merle at 8:30 a.m. upon presentation of their race bib to reach their Start the relay zone.

- A food reserve (energy bars or gels)
- A minimum of 0.5 litres of water or energy drink
- A survival blanket
- A windbreaker and/or rain jacket
- A charged cell phone in working order in case of emergency.
- A whistle
- A cup for the refreshment stations. Reusable cups will be available for purchase at the Bélier shop Bélier race day
- 5 full aid stations: Sur Frête, Lac de Balme, Le Louveteau, Les Prises, Le Nant des Prises
- A meal at the finish area
- Secure luggage storage
- Safety and rescue on the course and at the finish
- Timing of the event
- A T-shirt
- Prize-giving ceremony
- Access to showers. A shuttle service is available at Start .
⚠️ WARNING: We cannot disclose the route of the km trail run, as it crosses private property. The property owners grant us access only during the Bélier and Rando event.
TIME BARRIERS :
11:05 am at Crêt du Merle (Km 19.8), i.e. 4:15 am
12:20 pm at Les Prises (Km 25.6), i.e. 5:30 am
2:05pm at the ruisseau du Bre refreshment point (Km 33.8), i.e. 7:15am
Arrival in the village at 15:50 , i.e. 9 a.m.
Mandatory condition for participation in Bélier competition events (timed races, including Kids races):
As part of the implementation of safety rules, and in accordance with article L.231-2-1 of the French Sports Code, all participants in a competition must present the following information to the organizer:
- For individuals who are of legal age as of the date of the competition:
- Either an Athlé Compétition, Athlé Entreprise, or Athlé Running license issued by the FFA, or a “Pass’ J’aime Courir” issued by the FFA and completed by a doctor, valid on the date of the event. Other licenses issued by the FFA (Health and Coaching) are not accepted;
- Either a certificate (paper, electronic, or QR code) indicating that the individual has completed the Health Prevention Pass (or “PPS”) established by the FFA, under the Act of March 2, 2022, aimed at making sports more accessible in France, and its implementing decree of June 22, 2022, via its dedicated platform, the terms of use for which will also be established by the FFA (https://pps.athle.fr/). The PPS has had its validity extended by one year as of January 15, 2026, and costs €5. It includes liability insurance. To be valid, the PPS must have been completed less thanone year prior to the date of the event for which the person wishes to register.
Unless otherwise agreed, an adult cannot present the organizer with a license from another federation.
Foreign licenses are not accepted.
Triathlon licenses are not accepted (there is no agreement between the FFA and the FFTri).
For participants who are under the age of 18 on the date of the competition : Minors (U14 category or higher as defined by FFA regulations) do not complete the Health Prevention Pass. Before each race, they must fill out a free health questionnaire with the help of a parent. At the end of the questionnaire, a certificate valid only for that race is automatically issued.
