The trail pursuit
What if you put on your touring skis with us to discover La Clusaz under a starry sky?
The station has privatized a marked out space to us to have fun the time of an evening!
Set off on a brand-new format, the trace pursuit, to pull yourself up by your bootstraps and challenge the Aravis champions! You'll have just one goal: to avoid being caught all the way up by the champions who'll be setting off right after you! Stay tuned, we'll soon reveal the athletes you'll be competing against...
- Distance: 2,1 km
- Elevation gain: 456 m of D+.
- Start 8:15pm - Church Square
- Participation: individual
- Categories: Competition open to any suitably trained person born in 2011 and earlier (calendar year).
- Closing date for entries: Thursday, January 8, 2026 at 7pm
- Number pick-up: Friday, January 9, 2026 from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Salle des Fêtes in La Clusaz
- Maximum number of bibs: 150
Required equipment
- A headlamp in working order for the duration of the event (new batteries and power > 450 lumens)
- For skis, bindings, boots, skins and poles: in accordance with FFME regulations "Les règles du jeu des compétitions de ski-alpinisme - Saison 2024-2025" article 3.1 - Matériel pour les courses de ski alpinisme - pages 6 to 10 (available at the following link: https://www.ffme.fr/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/regle-jeu2024.pdf),
- A pair of gloves covering the whole hand up to the wrist and worn for the duration of the race,
- A bonnet or headband,
- A working, charged cell phone,
- A whistle
- A cup to keep you hydrated at refreshment points,
- The bib on the right thigh.
- Recording service on the site of Start
- A light refreshment (solid and liquid) will be offered to all participants at the finish.

Compulsory condition to take part in the "Trace Poursuite" event (competition format):
As part of the implementation of safety rules, the organizer will ensure, with regard to article L.231-3 of the Code du Sport, and the regulations of the FFME (event included in the promotional calendar) that participants hold:
- or an FFME license:
- an annual FFME license with a competition medical certificate associated with the license or
- an annual FFME license with an associated leisure medical certificate. The competitor must then be in possession of a medical certificate stating that he/she is not contraindicated in the competitive practice of ski mountaineering.
- A temporary FFME license with a medical certificate of no contraindication to the competitive practice of ski mountaineering; this license is issued by the organizer at a cost of 6€.
- or a FFCAM license with a medical certificate of no contraindication to the competitive practice of ski mountaineering.
