The good outfit with Ekosport

The 3 layer system

If there is one rule to know to dress well for a trail in winter, it is the 3 layers rule! The principle is simple, rather than putting on a thick sweater, we will favor the superposition of 3 layers of clothing that will insulate perfectly from the cold, while evacuating correctly the perspiration.

To do this, you will need:

  • A base layer, that is to say a technical underwear that will allow you to keep the heat of your body, while evacuating the perspiration. Merino wool will be ideal for this because it offers a very good breathability while being comfortable.
  • A middle layer, such as a warm synthetic fleece, whose role will be to evacuate moisture towards the upper layer, while insulating you from the cold.
  • A third layer, which will protect you from bad weather like wind or snow. Choose an insulating but breathable layer.

This outfit can be modified according to the weather of the day, or according to your resistance to the cold.

What to wear downstairs?

To keep your legs from getting cold, turn to running tights, which will keep your muscles and joints warm. Like the base layer of the 3-layer system, these tights are both insulating and breathable.

Covering the ends

It is essential to protect your extremities. Indeed, the cold infiltrates particularly by the head, the hands and the feet. On the big day, remember to take :

  • A hat or headband, both warm and breathable
  • Gloves, which will protect you from the wind and the cold
  • A good pair of merino socks, ideal for coupling warmth and breathability.

And don't forget the necklace!
